INCLUSIVE CARE IN THE HEART OF COQUITLAM

Physiotherapy for Concussions

If you’ve got a concussion, we’ve got you. Our knowledgeable therapists have the training it takes to address your concussion symptoms— and rehabilitate the brain injury that’s causing them.

PHYSIOTHERAPY DOESN'T JUST RELIEVE CONCUSSION SYMPTOMS. iT CAN RESOLVE YOUR CONCUSSION FOR GOOD!

Concussions are traumatic brain injuries and they deserve to be treated as the serious afflictions that they are.

For decades, professionals recommended rest and darkness for concussions. But now, evidence shows that doing nothing for too long makes symptoms last longer.

After a few days of rest, it’s important to slowly and safely begin moving again. And the best way to do that is under the watchful eye of a concussion-trained physiotherapist.

Long-Term Relief and Rehabilitation

One-on-one concussion physiotherapy gives you both

Concussions are serious, but they rarely cause permanent damage. Most people recover completely with time, consistency, and a therapeutic plan to follow.

Physiotherapy treatment for concussion helps with:

  • Headaches
  • Fatigue
  • Dizziness
  • Vertigo
  • Nausea
  • Difficulty balancing
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Visual disturbances
  • Difficulty looking at screens

Here for you—as a whole dang person

Don’t Just Be Seen By Your Therapist. Be Heard, Too.

From your initial assessment to the day you feel better, our goal is to make you feel seen, safe, and heard as you find your way back to the comfortable body you’re used to living in.

01

Assessment

Your first visit will be a thorough assessment. Your therapist will listen, ask questions, and understand what’s happening in your body. Then, begin your treatment!

02

Follow-Up Appointments

During follow-ups, your physio will put their years of training to work, helping you rehab injuries, relieve pain and discomfort, and improve function. Book as often as you need!

03

Treatment Plan

If they see fit, your physiotherapist may prescribe exercises and stretches you can do at home, specifically chosen to help you feel better faster—and for good!

What To Expect During Your Physiotherapy Appointment

We Set The Table For You

Prior to your arrival, your RMT will prep the room by sanitizing every touchpoint and setting up the pregnancy pillow if you need it. We’ll dress the table with crisp sheets and a fresh blanket, and heat or cool the room, too.

This Is A Judgment-Free Zone

This is your appointment! Your comfort is #1. Please do not apologize for having hairy body parts, showing up sweaty, crying during your session, wearing sweats to your appointment, or not wanting to fully disrobe.
