Remedial Post-Surgical & Scar Massage

You had gender-affirming surgery! Yay! But also…ouch! Whether it’s soreness and stiffness from having to limit your movement during recovery, scar sensitivity, or any other type of surgery-related ache, it’s pretty common to have a little bit of lingering pain.

Thankfully, massage therapy and scar massage can help reduce that pain by increasing your range of motion, breaking up scar tissue, and decreasing scar sensitivity. It can also help improve sensation to and around your surgical scars—super helpful if you experience any numbness!

Remedial Massage for Chest Binding

Binding can be an important part of gender expression and bodily autonomy—so we love it for that. But, because it’s compressive by nature, it can cause postural discomfort, restrict your breathing, and limit movement in the muscles and joints along your ribcage. And all of that can add up to pain and discomfort, especially with long-term use.

We understand the important place binders can hold in your gender affirmation journey, so we want to help you stay as comfortable as possible while using them—whether that’s long-term or while awaiting top surgery. Through massage, we can help ease discomfort and pain, increase mobility, and even improve the quality of your breathing.

Gender-Inclusive Massage Therapy

Feeling sore and achy overall?

Or need rehab for something that isn’t gender-related? We can support you with that, too!

Our clinic is safe and gender-inclusive, so no matter the reason for your visit, you’re welcome and you can trust that you’ll be in good hands!

What To Expect During Your Appointment

Booking your first appointment can be intimidating. Here’s what we want you to know:

OUR SPACE IS CLEAN AND COMFY

Our space hits that perfect balance of clean and comforting. We keep it hypoallergenic and sanitized so nothing interferes with your chill, and you feel at peace from the moment you walk through the door.

We set the table for you

Before your arrival, your RMT will prep the room by sanitizing every touchpoint, dressing the table with crisp sheets and a fresh blanket, and heating or cooling the room to the perfect temperature. (Yes, we have AC!)

This is a judgment-free zone

This is your appointment! Your comfort is #1. Please do not apologize for having hairy body parts, showing up sweaty, crying during your session, wearing sweats to your appointment, or not wanting to fully disrobe.

NO NEED TO STRIP DOWN!

What You Wear—Or Don’t!—Is Your Choice

For top surgeries, you can choose to keep your shirt on or take it off, lie over or under the sheet, and keep on any garments or undergarments that increase your comfort.

For lower body surgeries or treatments, most clients choose to wear only underwear, but the choice is still yours. And of course, we stay within our scope of practice, treating only the areas around the genital region. (The inner thighs, glutes, low back, and the upper and lower abdomen.)
