Let’s Make Pregnancy, Birth & Postpartum As Pain-Free As Possible

Because baby-making comes with a lot of lasting side effects—like being a little more tired and a lot more in love—but ongoing pain and discomfort should not make the list.

The Benefits of Pelvic Floor Physio

You know that pregnancy can be uncomfortable, birth will be something else, and postpartum healing will take some time. But did you know there’s a lot we can do to make it all a little easier?

In pelvic floor physiotherapy, we focus on the core and pelvic floor—the areas most affected during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Ongoing pelvic floor care can help you reduce pain and discomfort while addressing common but not-so-normal occurrences like peeing when you laugh or experiencing pain with sex—during any trimester of pregnancy and postpartum!

Internal Vaginal Exams Optional!

Whether or not you have an internal vaginal exam is up to you.

The internal vaginal exam helps the physiotherapist assess your symptoms, the tone and strength of the pelvic floor. It allows them to assess and treat without making guesses or speculation as to what the problem and solution might be.

Your pelvic floor assessment will be tailored to you and what you need help with, different external treatment options are available. Please have an open conversation with your physiotherapist of your treatment preferences

At your first appointment, we’ll talk about what brought you in and ask questions about your sexual health, bladder and bowel habits, and history. (Don't stress the interview—we're professionals and we've heard everything under the sun! If you have a concern, let's address it.)
