Pelvic pain, peeing when you sneeze, preparing for birth, and healing postpartum. Whatever pregnancy-related experiences you’re having, pelvic floor physio can help!
Because baby-making comes with a lot of lasting side effects—like being a little more tired and a lot more in love—but ongoing pain and discomfort should not make the list.
You know that pregnancy can be uncomfortable, birth will be something else, and postpartum healing will take some time. But did you know there’s a lot we can do to make it all a little easier?
In pelvic floor physiotherapy, we focus on the core and pelvic floor—the areas most affected during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Ongoing pelvic floor care can help you reduce pain and discomfort while addressing common but not-so-normal occurrences like peeing when you laugh or experiencing pain with sex—during any trimester of pregnancy and postpartum!
Debunk myths, reduce pain in pregnancy, and prepare for birth. Pelvic floor physio helps you feel more comfortable in your body while avoiding any undue strain.
Prenatal pelvic floor physio helps with:

Booking your first pelvic floor physio appointment can be intimidating. It’s important to us that you feel welcome and comfortable. We want you to feel safe asking questions, sharing needs, and telling us what is and isn’t working for you.
You’ll feel relaxed and be in good hands from the moment you walk through the door. We keep our space hypoallergenic and sanitized so you feel completely comfortable.
Prior to your arrival, your physiotherapist will prep the room by sanitizing every touchpoint and readying any pregnancy supports and tools they may use.

From your first session on, you can expect us to:
Check-in with how you’re feeling
Assess and reassess any aches, complaints, or injuries you have
Communicate everything we’re doing and ask for your feedback
Ask for consent before placing our hands on your body, both before the treatment and before touching potentially sensitive areas
Offer suggestions for maintenance exercises and mental health strategies
Listen to your needs and support you thoroughly
Whether or not you have an internal vaginal exam is up to you.
The internal vaginal exam helps the physiotherapist assess your symptoms, the tone and strength of the pelvic floor. It allows them to assess and treat without making guesses or speculation as to what the problem and solution might be.
Your pelvic floor assessment will be tailored to you and what you need help with, different external treatment options are available. Please have an open conversation with your physiotherapist of your treatment preferences
At your first appointment, we’ll talk about what brought you in and ask questions about your sexual health, bladder and bowel habits, and history. (Don't stress the interview—we're professionals and we've heard everything under the sun! If you have a concern, let's address it.)
