Massage Therapy Treatments Make Every Body Feel Better!

Massage therapy feels so dang good because it takes away the things your body doesn’t want (pain, tension, stress, anxiety) while giving you more of the things it does (mobility, relaxation, sleep, and overall good vibes).

Massage also offers all kinds of great health benefits, like helping you rehabilitate your injuries, recover from big life events like surgery and childbirth, and improve your mental health!

  • Car accident injuries (we bill ICBC directly)

  • Strains, sprains, and spasms

You’ll Get That’s-The-Spot Relief and Long-Term Restoration

Our goal is to make you feel seen, safe, and heard as you find your way back to the comfortable body you’re used to living in.

During your treatment, your massage therapist will put their years of training in anatomy and tissue manipulation to work, helping you rehab injuries, relieve pain, and reduce some of your stress.

We’ll also develop a treatment plan for you with any stretches and exercises we recommend that you do at home to help you feel better faster—and for good!

What To Expect During Your Appointment

Booking your first appointment can be intimidating. Here’s what we want you to know:

Capria Care is Clean and Comfy

OUR SPACE IS CLEAN AND COMFY

Our space hits that perfect balance of clean and comforting. We keep it hypoallergenic and sanitized so nothing interferes with your chill, and you feel at peace from the moment you walk through the door.

RMT Table

We set the table for you

Before your arrival, your RMT will prep the room by sanitizing every touchpoint, dressing the table with crisp sheets and a fresh blanket, and heating or cooling the room to the perfect temperature. (Yes, we have AC!)

No Judgement

This is a judgment-free zone

This is your appointment! Your comfort is #1. Please do not apologize for having hairy body parts, showing up sweaty, crying during your session, wearing sweats to your appointment, or not wanting to fully disrobe.

WE’RE HERE FOR YOU—AS A WHOLE DANG PERSON

Don’t Just Be Seen By Your Therapist. Be Heard, Too.

We already know muscles, bones, and tissues. What we want to learn about is you!

We’ll listen and ask the right questions so we understand what’s happening in your body and your life.

Then, help you move, function, and feel better.

Massage Therapy FAQs

  • Gender affirming massage is massage therapy provided in a way that respects and affirms your gender identity. This means we use your correct name and pronouns, we don't make assumptions about your body, we ask about your draping preferences without judgment, and we understand that dysphoria might affect which areas you want treated. It's not a special technique—it's regular massage therapy done by practitioners who understand trans and non-binary experiences.

  • A: You don't have to, but if you want to share—because it affirms your journey, or because you think it'll help us provide better care—we absolutely want to know.

Our intake forms ask for your name, pronouns, any areas you don't want touched, and draping preferences. We don't ask invasive questions about your surgical history, hormone use, or gender journey unless it's directly relevant to treating a specific concern you've brought to us. But if sharing that context helps you feel more seen, or helps your massage therapist understand what your body needs, please tell us.

You're here for massage, not to educate us about trans healthcare. But you're also welcome to share whatever feels right for you.

  • A: Please do. If we mess up, we want to know so we can correct it immediately. We're human and we make mistakes, but we'll apologize and get it right. You shouldn't have to manage our comfort or spend your massage appointment correcting us repeatedly—but one correction helps us serve you better.

  • A: Yes. Several of our practitioners are trans, non-binary, or queer. We also have practitioners who have extensive experience providing gender affirming care. If you'd like to book with a specific practitioner, you can note that when booking or call us to discuss which massage therapist might be the best fit for your needs.

  • A:The principles of gender affirming care—asking about draping preferences, not making assumptions about bodies, respecting boundaries without question, using correct names and pronouns—benefit everyone. We ask all our clients these questions because consent, communication, and comfort matter for every body on our table. Trans and non-binary folks shouldn't have to specifically seek out "affirming" care; this should just be standard healthcare. But we name it explicitly so you know it's safe to book with us.

  • You don't need to have everything figured out to receive care here. You can use whatever name feels right today, try out different pronouns, change your mind between appointments—all of that is fine. Your gender journey is yours, and we're just here to help your body feel better while you're on it.

  • Yes. Massage therapy is massage therapy regardless of your gender identity. We bill insurance and ICBC the same way we do for any other client. If your insurance requires your legal name for billing purposes, we'll use it for billing only—we'll still use your chosen name in all other communications and during your treatment.

  • We get it. Healthcare hasn't always been safe for trans and non-binary folks, and being nervous is a completely reasonable response to that history. Here's what might help:

    • Call us before booking to ask questions or discuss your concerns

    • Note any specific needs or preferences when you book online

    • Bring a support person to your first appointment if that helps you feel safer

    • Start with a shorter appointment to test things out

    • Let your practitioner know at the start of your appointment that you're nervous—we'll adjust our approach accordingly

You deserve massage therapy that doesn't require you to be brave first. We want to make that possible for you.
