WHAT’S VESTIBULAR PHYSICAL THERAPY?

Physiotherapy for Vertigo, Dizziness, Vision & Balance

Your vestibular system is made up of your spinal cord, certain nerves, and your eyes.

If something’s off with that system, odds are you feel pretty terrible sometimes. Dizziness, vertigo, vision disturbances, balance issues—and the resulting headaches and nausea—can make it hard to move, work, drive, and even look at screens without feeling sick.

Thankfully, there’s vestibular rehabilitation: a type of physiotherapy that works to correct dysfunction in your vestibular system. So you can stop feeling so “ick” and get back to living life on your terms.

Long-Term Relief and Rehabilitation

One-on-one Vestibular physiotherapy gives you both

Vestibular issues are serious, but they can typically be resolved. Most people recover completely with time, consistency, and a therapeutic plan to follow.

Vestibular physiotherapy can alleviate symptoms like:

  • Dizziness
  • Vertigo
  • Difficulty balancing

  • Visual disturbances
  • Lightheadedness
  • Headaches
  • Migraines
  • Nausea

Note: it can be hard to drive after vestibular physio. Consider arranging a ride home!

Here for you—as a whole dang person

Don’t Just Be Seen By Your Therapist. Be Heard, Too!

From your initial assessment to the day you feel better, our goal is to make you feel seen, safe, and heard as you find your way back to the comfortable body you’re used to living in.

01

Assessment

Your first visit will be a thorough assessment. Your therapist will listen, ask questions, and understand what’s happening in your body. Then, begin your treatment!

02

Follow-Up Appointments

During follow-ups, your physio will put their years of training to work, helping you rehab injuries, relieve pain, and improve function. Book as many follow-ups as you need!

03

Treatment Plan

If they see fit, your physiotherapist may prescribe exercises and stretches you can do at home, specifically chosen to help you feel better faster—and for good!

I would Give Capra More Stars if I could

“The clinic is welcoming, inclusive, and has an overall good vibe. I’ve been seeing Richelle since the beginning and I always walk out feeling like new. She knows where I’m tight and sore better than I know myself. I saw Michelle who helped me quickly recover from a minor knee injury. I was also able to grab an appointment with Dave for my first relaxing massage, which is just what I needed going into spring break.

Everyone on the team is so easy to talk to and professional with clear communication so nothing is awkward. I look forward to trying out the other RMTs, but so far they’re all amazing. Parking is clearly marked and they do direct billing for BlueCross. I don’t follow a lot of businesses on Instagram, but I highly recommend following Capria to find last-minute appointments and wholesome content that makes you feel part of the collective. 10/10 would recommend.”

Recommend Capria 10/10!

“My experience at Capria has been fantastic! Loi was my RMT and she does a phenomenal job of focusing on my concerns and is really down to earth! Front desk staff was also really helpful, knowledgable and provided stunning refreshments to start the day off right!”

My experience at Capria Care Collective is always exceptional!

“From the moment I am greeted at the door & to the moment I leave! I started going to Capria in February of this year & I’ve loved it! I receive RMT services with Loi & she’s amazing!! She has since been able to help relieve the muscle fatigue & soreness I get from working as an RN. Ever since my first session, I always make sure to book before & after my set! I highly recommend this clinic to anyone that’s looking for an RMT!”

Vestibular Physio FAQs

It’s always a good idea to see your doctor when new vestibular symptoms come on. They can help rule out any other causes for what you’re feeling. But if you’ve already done that, or you just don’t want to wait, you are welcome to book with us directly. No doctor’s referral is required.

We’d recommend taking it easy for at least the first 2 days after your concussion, then coming to see us after that. Physiotherapists can diagnose concussions, so you don’t need to see your doctor first, but of course, you can if you prefer to. Learn more on our Concussion Physio page!

Nope! The BC healthcare system doesn’t require that you see your physician before booking a physio appointment so if you’re in pain, just book right in! The only consideration is your insurance provider. Some of them do require a doctor’s referral. So if you plan on billing insurance for your treatments, just double-check your plan first!

Yes! We currently bill directly to Pacific Blue Cross, Canada Life, Sunlife, Desjardins, Manulife, and Industrial Alliance. We currently DO NOT bill directly to ICBC. If you have an ICBC claim you are still able to book your appointment, pay upfront and submit it to your adjuster.

Our schedule is open 3 months ahead to enable you to book the necessary recurring appointments. If there are no appointments available at the time of looking, add yourself to the waitlist and you’ll hear from us in an email.
